Welcome to The Wee Kids Print E-mail

ImageThe Wee Kids is a group of parents and friends who have joined together because of something they all share. They all share the fact that they know or have a child of their own who is dealing with some form of urology issue. Many of these children have surgery because of life threatening kidney trouble or because they are totally incontinent and still need to wear nappies and incontinence pads long after their friends have been toilet trained. Many children are born with genital deformities that need surgery so that these children can grow up looking and feeling just like their friends.

The Wee Kids was formed six years ago by family and friends to help raise funds to purchase paediatric urology equipment for hospitals and to provide a much needed support network. The Wee Kids aim to help by funding medical research and by purchasing up to date and modern equipment that will help doctors and the other staff at hospitals to manage our children’s conditions to the best of their abilities.

Three years ago The Wee Kids was formed into a foundation which has given us the opportunity to expand the areas in which we are able to help children with urology issues. Many of these children suffer incontinence, hypospadias, bladder exstrophy, urinary track infections or bed wetting.

The Wee Kids Foundation is not only about raising much needed funds but also about providing support for each other. The look on a child’s face when they meet each other and realize they are not alone with what they are dealing with is priceless. Over the last five years we have been able to run our major Fundraising Dinner and Auction which has had over 430 people in attendance each year. We have also held trivia nights both here in Victoria and in Tasmania, and have been able to raise over $200,000.00 to date.
